New chapter publication of our lab members

The Handbook of the Psychology of Terrorism was published in March 2026 and includes a chapter authored by members of our lab, Katarzyna Jaśko and Agnieszka Kuhny.

Their chapter, “Experimental Designs in the Study of Violent Extremism: Opportunities and Challenges,” reviews the current state of experimental research on violent extremism. The authors discuss key methodological and ethical issues, including measurement, social desirability bias, the validity of experimental manipulations, sample selection, and ethical considerations.

The chapter also presents different types of experimental designs and illustrates them with examples from existing studies. Overall, the review highlights both the challenges and the promise of experimental approaches in deepening our understanding of violent extremism.
